Who are we?

onlineMD is run by husband and wife team Lindsay Ashworth and Alan Fraser. Lindsay gained a BA Hons in Applied Music from Strathclyde University before studying Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. She now works as an actor/singer alongside running onlineMD. Alan gained a BA Hons in Music from Glasgow University before studying a MMus in Composition at Edinburgh University. After years as a classroom music teacher, Alan is now a freelance musician teaching at Glasgow University & the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland; playing with rock ceilidh band Bahookie and functions band The Sentinels; and working as a musical director.

With their vast training, varied experience and knowledge of the music and theatre industries, Alan and Lindsay are the perfect team to provide you with all the musical expertise you need.

Assisting Alan and Lindsay is Karen Bartke.  Karen will be dealing with day to day admin and responding to emails and messages.  Karen is an actress and voiceover artist and also sings back up vocals for The Sentinels.

Rounding out the team, and by far the most important member, is Baby Ruadh, Alan and Lindsay's gorgeous little boy.

How do I take advantage of your services?

Simply Register for an online-MD.co.uk account and you can instantly order any of our exceptional services.

How does onlineMD work?

Once you've registered, you can order any of services online and will be prompted to send us sheet music if you have it. We will then record your tracks and email them back within 72 hours - if you need them more urgently just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate. If you request a quote or make a general enquiry, we will endeavour to contact you within 48 hours with all the information you need.

How quickly will I receive my tracks?

The maximum turnaround for our work is listed below but if you have an urgent request please contact us and we will do our best to meet your deadline. Tracks2Go - available for immediate download once payment is complete
  • Piano Accompaniments - 72 hours
  • Tune-Up Tracks - 72 hours
  • Bespoke Backing Tracks - 2 weeks
  • Repertoire Package - 2 weeks

Do I have to supply sheet music for my tracks?

This is the easiest option so please do so if you can. Once you have placed your order, you will be prompted to email us your sheet music. However, if you do not have sheet music, there is an option on the order form to ask onlineMD to source music on your behalf for a small charge of £5.

Do I have to order & pay online?

No, but it is the easiest way! However, if you would prefer to contact us directly with your order, please do so. We can send tracks direct to your email and invoice you securely via PayPal.

Is my track fully legal and licensed?

All tracks supplied by onlineMD are licensed by PRS which means that they can be used for private rehearsal or audition accompaniment.

If you wish to perform publicly with any of our tracks, we advise you to contact PRS directly for further advice and ask that you credit onlineMD in any programme or publicity material.

Do you provide any other services?

As well as recording backing tracks of different types, we also undertake Sheet Music Transposition and Piano/Vocal Transcription. Please click here to see our full list of services.

If you have any other musical requirement not listed on our site, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

What are your working hours?

We know there is no such thing as 'office hours' in this business so please get in touch and we will do our best to help whenever you need us.  Our core business hours are 10am-8pm Monday to Saturday.  Since Baby Ruadh joined the team, we've allocated Sundays exclusively to staff training (of baby Ruadh).

Our turnaround times are worked out from our core hours, so please take this into account when ordering.  For example, if you send an order on Saturday before 8pm, your order should be delivered before 8pm the following Tuesday.

Why can't I register when I don't live in the UK?

Our tracks are only licensed for people in the UK. Sorry!
